Neighthan White
Neighthan White is a writer and an undergraduate specialist in education sciences. In his late twenties he is a regular member of Montessori techniques for children under 10 seminars, a volunteer at Education without Borders and LDS, a startup inventor, a language learner, a writer and a happy husband.
In his early years Neight always helped his family at the local LDS church in Sacramento. There didn’t exist an event he wasn’t a part of. That is why when the delegation from a southern Africa came to LDS, he didn’t hesitate to join a Missionary in Biera, Mozambique in 2013. “Members and missionaries, including myself, thought and prayed about how to help. We tried to do our best to emphasize the situation between marriage and parents` will. How to protect underage women. We were shocked by the situation with locals and that the government wasn’t able to do anything at all” – recalls Neighthan.
The missionary made a huge impact on his life. Straight after coming back home he applied for an educational program at Sacramento City College. During the years in college he was an active student. Neighthan enrolled for every available course that dealt with education: physics, math, psychology, logic, PE, etc. But the main love he had discovered on the second year – was English. At that time he started realizing the beauty of the written word and joined a poetry club. He stared at a few college performances and put on screen his own script, based on events he had discovered in Biera. The opening night gathered almost all the students from the campus and an approval of the dean and his office.
After the graduation Neight spent a year as a tutor at Montessori center in Sacramento. He attended professional development courses and enrolled for writing and editing program at a private, Evangelical Christian university Biola. At the same time he started writing articles on various themes for local business web resource. But a chance meeting changed his life when after the Sunday sermon he met a man from a publishing house who offered him a job. Since then Neight has been writing not just for himself.
Yet, writing is not the only passion of his. Kayaking, windsurfing, basketball, and light athletics – you won’t find a boy lying on the couch on Saturday morning.
Areas of expertise include: recruiting, usability, business research, blogging, media relations, self-management, content strategy, writing and editing, volunteering, tutoring, inventing. Check out his articles to know more about these spheres and find useful tips and recommendations from Neight.
